I really enjoyed it and it helped me with my three girls at home and at work

Years ago when I had young children I did the Return to Learn course, which was an English and Maths refresher to help my kids with their school work. As part of my project I studied young people in their transition from Primary to Secondary school. I talked to a range of specialists including teachers, parents, head-teachers and nurses. I really enjoyed it and it helped me with my three girls at home and at work. My tutor was a good chat and easily accessible if you wanted help or advice and a wee bit of credit! It was lovely to get a certificate for my work.

I’ve done a range of other courses as a union rep, including Building Confidence for Women. It’s never been like school or felt like going to school – it’s always more like going out for a night’s craic!

I’m hoping to get onto a course looking at women’s rights. I think it’ll be interesting and gives me a challenge.
