Supporting Nutrition in Residential and Acute Settings - 13th April

The course will look at how members can support older people to in residential, acute and home settings to maintain good nutrition. It will take place in the Mid Ulster Hospital, Magherafelt on Tuesday 13th April from 10am - 4pm.

It will look at issues of hydration, good nutrition and ways to encourage older people to eat. It will also explore the impact of nutritional deficits on older people.

Older people in acute and residential settings are at risk of ill health due to reluctance or inability to eat and drink sufficiently. Dehydration in particular has been identified as a key issue which is affecting health of older people.

This workshop is targeted at members working in catering, nursing, social care and as AHPs. It takes place in the Mid Ulster Hospital, Magherafelt from 10am - 4pm. It is free to UNISON members and lunch will be provided.

It is being delivered by Patricia Dunne, former OU tutor and Joanne Deery, dietician.
