UNISON Ulearn Northern Ireland

The DHSSPS has commissioned workbased adult and mental health pre-reg places from both the Open University and Queens University. Places will be allocated through an internal recruitment process through each Trust. It is up to each Trust to decide how many, if any, places they are supporting.

Entry Criteria for Open University Places: Applicants must:
Be of Good Character and Health
Be prepared to work in Mental Health or Adult nursing with your employer’s support
Have experience of care delivery

And have one or more of the following:
• NVQ II Care Award Plus a Numeracy Qualification at Key Skills level 2 or Equivalent
• NVQ III Care Award Plus a Numeracy Qualification at Key Skills level 2 or Equivalent
• K100/K101 Understanding Health and Social Care plus a numeracy qualification at Key Skills level II or equivalent.
• 5 GCSEs (including literacy and numeracy component at key skills level II).
