Single Assessment Process Workshop - 13th May

1 Apr 2008

This is a half day workshop targeted from social workers and the nursing team who work with older people. It will focus on the concept of person-centred care and the impact of the Single Assessment Process as an assessment tool.

The National Service Framework for Older People prioritises ‘person-centred’ assessment approaches, and much has been written about what actually constitutes person-centred care. The results from the literature to date seem to indicate that the Single Assessment Process (SAP) has yet to prove itself in achieving this aim.

This will give participants an opportunity to explore issues such as:-

• The apparent duplication with regard to the SAP
• Overview assessment process
• Assessment tools for older people’s needs
