Time for a New Year resolution to get learning. Short courses are now being offered by the Open University, University of Ulster, Queen’s University as well as some Colleges of Further Education. From tai chai to tiling find out what’s available and how to get started.

The Open University courses have courses starting in March and May such as

In addition the Openings Courses are also available starting in February. These include Understanding Management; Understanding Society; Understanding Children; Understanding the Environment; Understanding Health & Making Sense of the Arts. These courses are available free and last for approximately four months with no tutorials. Deadline for applications is January 19th. University of Ulster has a range of courses which are available online and therefore participants can start at any time. Some examples include

North Down and Ards Open Days 2007 Bangor College, Tuesday 6th March, 10am-2pm, 2-5pm, 6.30-8.30pm; and Ards College, Thursday 8th March, 2-5pm, 6.30-8.30pm. There will also be an Apprenticeship Training Open Evening on Tuesday 8th May, 7.30-9.30pm. Visit www.ndai.ac.uk for more information.

East Antrim Institute
EAIFHE Information and Enrolment Evening – Evening hosted by East Antrim Institute of FHE and intended for the purpose of filling remaining places on Part Time courses. Belfast Institute BIFHE is offering a variety of day and evening part time course including languages, wine appreciate, life drawing, computers, wood turning, car maintenance or audio transcription. Full details are available here
