UNISON has started recruiting for the Open University K100 Understanding Health & Social Care course in Down Lisburn Trust, Mater Trust, North & West Belfast Trust, Ulster Community Hospitals Trust and Greenpark Trust. These courses will recruit in November - early December. The course is also open to members from outside the Trust to apply, e.g. private nursing homes, private care providers, ambulance service, blood transfusion service, however the course will run during the day and participants would have to work personal rotas around the timetable to attend. »more

Over the next twelve months, the Review of Public Administration will result in the merger of Health Trusts, Education & Library Boards and Councils. This will mean that UNISON members will transfer to new employers, involving possible relocation of staff and there are concerns around attempts to centralise and privatise services, particular administration. »more
