OU Taster Sessions at Altnagelvin & Causeway

Open University lunchtime taster sessions on the K100 Understanding Health & Social Care Course will run in Altnagelvin on Friday 16th June & in Causeway hospital on Monday 19th June. The events are targeted at nurses, allied health staff, nursing auxiliaries/assistants, health care assistants, student nurses, home care staff, but may be of interest to other staff working in Trusts or private nursing homes.

“Understanding Health and Social care: How Health and Social care is, or should be provided” is a taster based on the Open University module K100 Understanding Health & Social Care which is currently running with Foyle/Altnagelvin Trusts in partnership with UNISON. The K100 explores the politics of care, what happens when care goes wrong, models of care and their impact on beneficiaries.

The sessions will be delivered by Pauline Nellis, OU tutor. Light refreshments will be provided

Friday June 16th 1 - 2pm - Room 2 of the MDEC Building in Altnagelvin Hospital
Monday June 19th 12.30 - 1.30pm -Seminar Room 2 in the Multidisciplinary Centre, Causeway Hospital
