This month the BBC Yellow Bus will be visiting Belfast, Armagh, Ballycastle, Craigavon, Lisnaskea, Antrim and Gortin. A chance to have a go at the internet, digital photography and radio production. Remember you can access the internet for free at any library. For a full list of locations, check out our links page.
June 7th - Clanmil Housing, East Belfast
In Belfast the Bus will be linking up with Clanmil Housing (Hughes Court), based just off Mount Merrion Avenue. The Bus Team will be delivering ‘Surfing the Web’ tasters over the course of the day. Visitors are also welcome to pop along to pick up any of the BBC literature we have onboard the Bus or the latest copy of our Bus Stop magazine! We will be open from 11am to 3pm.
June 13th - Armagh City (opposite the Library)
Men’s Health Week is a national campaign run by Men’s Health Forum. The charity aims to help make men more aware of possible symptoms and to seek advice as soon as possible. The week seeks to show how to tackle problems in the workplace or local community, as well as in healthcare. Today the Bus will be parked opposite the library in Armagh City. Onboard the Bus it will be business as usual and will include demonstrations of the BBC Men’s Health Web pages where there will be lots of information and advice. Open from 11am to 3pm.
June 14th - Ballycastle (Marina car park)
Today, in support of Men’s Health Week, the Bus will be visiting Ballycastle. Again there will be experts on hand to give out information about Men’s Health and the Bus will also be there offering our usual tasters. In addition the team will be demonstrating the BBC Men’s Health web pages. Open from 11am to 3pm.
June 15th - Craigavon Leisure Centre
Craigavon is the last stop in support of Men’s Health Week. The Bus will be open from 4pm to 7.30pm. Why not pop on board to find out what information and resources are available. You can also find out more about BBC services in general on the day. Everyone is more than welcome!
June 20th - Lisnaskea
Today the Bus is heading down to County Fermanagh by kind invitation from Lisnaskea Parents group. It will be spending the day parked at the Castle Centre car park in Lisnaskea and will be delivering Internet, Digital Photography and Radio Production tasters for the parents. Open from 11am to 3pm.
June 23rd - Antrim Forum for the Special Olympics
The Special Olympics will be taking place in Northern Ireland from 22nd to 25th June. To celebrate this event the Big Yellow Bus and team will be joining Hugo Duncan for a live broadcast at the Antrim Forum. Good craic is guaranteed so please pop along to lend your support!
June 28th - Gortin
The Big Yellow Bus is heading to Gortin in County Tyrone today to spend a day at the Gortin Community Centre in the village. There will be Web Development workshops as well as our usual IT Tasers, Digital Photography and Radio Production Classes. Why not pop along to meet the team or to leave in your request for Uncle Hugo! Open from 11am to 3pm.
June 29th - Old Park, North Belfast Web Development is still in the air for a visit to the Old Park Job Club in North Belfast. On the bus they will be spending the day looking at how to create and design webpages as well as our usual IT Tasters. If you want to find out about any BBC services, e.g Digital radio or Freeview television please pop along between 11am and 3pm. Everyone welcome!
