Join UNISON on the steps of Stormont from 9am onwards on Monday May 15th to send a clear message to local politicians on their first day back at work. Come along and make your voice heard on water rates, cuts in education and health by calling for the full and immediate restoration of devolved institutions Send a letter to your MLA.
The Northern Ireland Assembly will be recalled on Monday 15th May to form an Executive. Only then will power devolve to the NI Assembly. Without a return to devolution, Northern Ireland will remain a testing ground for failed policies on health, education and public services that the Government would not dare in GB for fear of losing electoral support. Further cuts in budgets for schools are proposed, particularly in special needs provision. The introduction of water rates and private health facilities are on the horizon with little accountability from our local politicians. Direct Rule means that Northern Ireland is essentially being run by senior civil servants. We need our politicians to act now, to take responsibility, to deliver on their promises in the election on public services. Come along and stand with us. If you can’t be there, fill in your details on a letter and send it to them. Have your say, make your voice heard.
