Violent attacks and harassment of our members in hospitals, homes, schools etc. is on the increase. The recent attack on one of members in the Ulster Hospital brought the issue into the public arena, but verbal and physical violence occurs on a daily basis. This day long course gives members a chance to discuss their experience and look at strategies to deal with it more effectively.
It will examine topics on how violence impacts on members in terms of morale, self esteem, illness and how branches can use health & safety laws, local bargaining and campaigns to tackle this serious problem. This course is particularly relevant for those who have experienced violence, but also activists who want to learn more about how to raise this in the workplace agenda. To come along, go to the course’s section and download an application form.
