Using The Media
Targeted at Branch activists particularly branch secretaries and branch communication officers
Duration 2 days
What you and your Union can gain from the course:
• How to use local and regional media to support branch and regional Campaigns
• How to write Press releases to ensure UNISON’s message is promoted
• How to conduct a radio interview and be proactive in using local / regional radio
Key areas for you as a Learner:
• Be confident in promoting UNISON’S campaigns via the media
• Be able to highlight local issues such as cuts, closures and withdrawal of services effectively in local media
• Be confident in speaking to the media
• How to communicate effectively
