Using RMS (Replacement Membership System)

Targeted at: All activists (IT skills essential)
Duration: 6 days

The RMS system is UNISON’s membership database that uses up-to-date technology to support branch activities. It is a sophisticated and powerful database enabling storage and management of membership records information. It is a powerful organising tool integrating membership and subscription information.

The system will enable UNISON branches to know more about their members and where they are. The RMS provides many benefits to branches in that it gives branches direct access to one single national database that can be accesses via the internet. First and foremost the RMS will be an effective organising tool that branches can use to assist in recruitment and campaigning as well as other events.

The content of the course will cover:

  • Using the RMS as a practical tool to meet the branches and the union’s organising objectives
  • Searching for individuals
  • Searching for groups of members
  • Using advanced search techniques
  • Updating Members records
  • Branch mapping
  • Viewing Branch, Employer and Workplace Details
  • Producing and Printing Reports
  • Creating and Printing Letters to send to members
  • Producing and Printing Mailing Labels
