Targeted at Branch officers and stewards seeking to develop effective responses to member’s concerns on these issues.
Duration Half day
What you and your Union can gain from the course:
As the pressure of cuts increases, members are coming under increasing pressure to:-
• Cover for others
• do duties outside their job description
• do work they have not been trained to do
This course will distinguish between reasonable and unreasonable requests from management, and identify individual and collective responses that UNISON can use to support and advise our members.
Key areas for you as a learner:
• What is a reasonable request?
• What is unreasonable?
• How to respond verbally and in writing
• Where to seek help
• Using the status quo
• How to take action, including no cover bans.
