Agenda for Change - Advocates: Dealing with Appeals

Targeted at: Health Service Reps
Duration: 2 days

Every UNISON health branch should have well established procedures for dealing with Agenda for Change. This includes:

  • Recruiting and training activists to represent members on local AIC projects boards and negotiating bodies.
  • Ensuring stewards are recruited and trained to support members through appeals against banding outcomes
  • Providing training and personal development opportunities for those interested in becoming AIC reps or job evaluation practitioners
  • To maximise opportunities for increased recruitment of members and activists and to use AIC as an opportunity to improve branch organisation.

Contents include:

  • Understanding basic job matching/evaluation procedure
  • Re-assessing matching panel decisions
  • Evaluating a review case
  • Producing and presenting evidence
  • Checklists
  • Organising opportunities
