Women's Health and History - Residential Weekend

Targeted at: Any woman member
Duration: 2 days (Saturday to Sunday)

This is a weekend residential workshop organised for women around Northern Ireland where we invite women in UNISON to remember their history and make some plans for the future.

What You and Your Union Can Gain From The Course?
* Knowledge of how issues affecting women's health have changed over the past 100 years, most for the better,some not
* Realising that we need to continue to campaign for improvement
* Remembering your grandmother talking about the local handy woman
* What happened when your family could not afford the doctor?
* Is life turning full circle as the NHS is changed and rationalised?

Key Areas For You As A Participant
* Knowing what has gone wrong and what needs putting right for women
* How to get involved in UNISON supported local campaigns
* How to raise awareness of these issues with your work, colleagues, friends and family
