Women's Lives

Targeted at: All women members
Duration: Once a fortnight over 4 months

UNISON Women's Lives is a course for UNISON's women members. It is aimed at women who have been out of education for a while and who have had few educational opportunities in the past. It is particularly suitable for women who are in part-time or low paid jobs.

Women's Lives aims to build and develop your confidence and study skills. This could help you move on in your work, in your union, in education or other areas of your lives.

Women's Lives, a four month course, is now available to all women members in your area. The course is designed for women who are returning to study, so joining is easy and the sessions are informal and friendly with no tests or examinations.

The course deals with issues of interest to all women. It helps develop existing skills and gives you new ones. It focuses on women's experiences at work and in their personal lives.

If you wish you can gain credits for your work which will help you access other courses and workplace training.

You join a regular study group that meets every two weeks at a time that suits you.

When we receive interest from 15 people in the same area, we will start a class.
