This is a two day course which explores poverty under the headings of poverty and its causes; poverty and policy; poverty and gender; poverty and children.

• breaking the cycle of poverty
• how policy impacts on poverty
• gender dimension to poverty
• the impact of income inequality in households
• myths about and causes of child poverty
• young people from particular groups who are at greater risk of experiencing poverty
