Duration: 1/2 day

As part of UNISON’s commitment to continuing professional development we are offering this workshop targeted at nurses, social workers and ambulance staff. However, it may be of interest to members working in other areas.

The morning will feature input from the ‘Telling It Like It Is’ group. These are men and women with a learning disability who will deliver a presentation on how they want to be treated by staff working in areas such as health care. This will be followed by a session from Maurice Devine, Consultant Nurse in Learning Disability on effective communication techniques and strategies.
