Targeted at : Classroom assistants; Members working in early years
Duration: 1 day
This course is part of UNISON’s Continuing Professional Development Programme
This training session will aim to highlight the role of emotion in children’s development. We will look at your role as classroom assistants and early years workers in developing students’ emotional competence. It is important that children are equipped with the necessary skills to control their own emotions. Without such skills, behavioural problems can arise.
Managing student behaviour is essential to teaching and learning in the school environment. This session will aim to equip you with some Behavioural Management techniques that could be implemented with your own children and with those you are working with. In conjunction with these practical suggestions, we will look at your role in forming and maintaining attachments with students. Recognising individual differences in attachment can allow you to respond appropriately to the needs of individual students, thus reducing the possibility of behavioural problems arising.
