Learning Education Techniques and Lay Tutor Training

Targeted at: Experienced branch officers and stewards
Duration: 5 days

A number of UNISON representatives who have already undertaken this course now enjoy education techniques at branch and regional level and find it a much better way of doing our business. The course shows how adults learn and looks at how we can use education techniques for use in our day-to-day UNISON work.

We want to expand the number of activists in Northern Ireland who have knowledge and experience of education techniques.

The course will explore:

  • Discussion leading
  • Preparing educational materials
  • Organising sessions
  • Using visual aids
  • Using education techniques

The main focus of the course is to help students gain skills useful at branch level for stewards briefings and basic education training events.
