Learning Education Techniques and Lay Tutor Training
Targeted at: Experienced branch officers and stewards
Duration: 2 days
A number of UNISON representatives who have already undertaken this course now enjoy education techniques at branch and regional level and find it a much better way of doing our business. The course shows how adults learn and looks at how we can use education techniques for use in our day-to-day UNISON work.
By the end of 2006 we want to expand the number of activists in Northern Ireland who have knowledge and experience of education techniques.
The course will explore:
- Discussion leading
- Preparing educational materials
- Organising sessions
- Using visual aids
- Using education techniques
The main focus of the course is to help students gain skills useful at branch level for stewards briefings and basic education training events.

Date: Monday 24 - Tuesday 25 July

Part 2
Date: Friday 15th September - Saturday 16th September
