UNISON will be running the Open University K100 Understanding Health & Social Care course in partnership with United Hospitals Trust in October. This course provides a stand alone qualification and can also potentially link into programmes in nursing, social work, health management and youth studies. Information sessions will take place on the Antrim Hospital site, in Mid Ulster Hospital and at Whiteabbey. UNISON will access funding for 15 members from lower income households to to do this course free of charge. The course will be open for any UNISON member to apply, but candidates must meet set criteria and get approval from their line manager.

This course is being run in partnership with the Trust, so those selected will get time off from work to attend the tutorials and the UNISON Study Skills for K100 programme. However, considerable study must also be taken in your own time.
