UNISON will be running the Open University K100 Understanding Health & Social Care course in partnership with United Hospitals Trust in October. This course provides a stand alone qualification and can also potentially link into programmes in nursing, social work, health management and youth studies. Information sessions will take place on the Antrim Hospital site, in Mid Ulster Hospital and at Whiteabbey. UNISON will access funding for 15 members from lower income households to to do this course free of charge. The course will be open for any UNISON member to apply, but candidates must meet set criteria and get approval from their line manager. »more

As part of UNISON's Continuing Professional Development programme United & Homefirst UNISON branch will host a workshop on "Dealing with Death & Dying in Health Care Settings" . This is a taster session based on an Open University module and will run from 1 - 2pm on June 12th in the Lecture Theatre at Fern House, Antrim Area Hospital site. »more
