Information sessions on the Open University K100 course take place in the Personnel Training Room, 3rd Floor, Bostock at 12pm and 2pm on Wednesday 7th of June. UNISON will access funding for 15 members from lower income households to to do this course free of charge. The course will be open for any UNISON member to apply, but candidates must meet set criteria and get approval from their line manager.
One group of Trust staff are about to complete the K100 Understanding Health & Social Care course, and some will be on hand to provide information on what the course entails and the personal commitment required. This course provides a stand alone qualification and can also potentially link into programmes in nursing, social work, health management and youth studies.
This course is being run in partnership with the Trust, so those selected will get time off from work to attend the tutorials and the UNISON Study Skills for K100 programme. However, considerable study must also be taken in your own time.
