North & West Trust has a number of places on the Open University Pre-Reg Mental Health Nursing diploma course. This is a workbased course which enables participants to gain a professional nursing qualification without having to give up your job.

Places are limited to staff on a permanent contract who are working as Health Care Support Worker.

Criteria includes
NVQ 2 plus numeracy (GCSE Maths A - C or Numeracy Level 2)
NVQ 3 plus numeracy (GCSE Maths A – C or Numeracy Level 2)
K100 plus numeracy (GCSE Maths A – C or Numeracy Level 2)
5 GCSEs including English and Maths A – C

An information session will take place on September 11th from 10am - 3pm in Health Education Room, Shankill Health Centre. The Open University will be doing a rolling presentation and you can drop in to find out more. Deadline for applications is 25th September and application packs are available at the information session and from the Community Nursing Unit, Durham Street Tel 90278822. Interviews will take place on Oct 17th, additional interview days may be added depending on numbers.
