The Mater Hospital Trust has a number of places on the Open University Pre-Reg Adult and Mental Health Nursing diploma course. This is a workbased course which enables participants to gain a professional nursing qualification without having to give up your job.
Places are limited to staff on a permanent contract who are working as Health Care Support Worker.
Criteria includes
NVQ 2 plus numeracy (GCSE Maths A - C or Numeracy Level 2)
NVQ 3 plus numeracy (GCSE Maths A – C or Numeracy Level 2)
K100 plus numeracy (GCSE Maths A – C or Numeracy Level 2)
5 GCSEs including English and Maths A – C
*Courses which are recognised as equivalent to GCSE English and Maths can be found here
An information session will take place on August 39th from 10am - 3pm in the Atrium. The Open University will be doing a rolling presentation and you can drop in to find out more. Deadline for applications is 15th September and application packs are available at the information session and from Olive Macleod, Assistant Director of Nursing. Interviews will take place on Oct 10th, additional interview days may be added depending on numbers.
