The work of the WINS project will be highlighted at a promotional event on Wednesday 7 March 2007 at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast. The Women Into Non-Traditional Sectors (WINS) project was set up to provide greater opportunities for women to take part in ‘non-traditional’ jobs. This includes jobs in which the large majority of workers are typically men - for example: in the construction industry; grounds maintenance; street cleaning and public transport. »more

The Northern Ireland Rural Women's Network and the Rural Community Network are organising an International Women's Day event on 8 March in the Royal Court Hotel, Portrush. The overall theme is on 'giving value, being valued' as women living and working in rural areas. It's about all women having the confidence, opportunities and resources to actively participate in all areas of rural life [giving value] and the wider rural community recognizing and giving equal value the work of women in rural areas [being valued]. »more
