This insightful event will feature Prof Paul Hunt, UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Health and will explore how a rights-based approach in addressing the social and economic inequalities can measure and address health inequalities. The seminar is being hosted by the Participation and the Practice of Rights Project which is currently developing a replicable model which is being developed and tested in areas of North Dublin and North Belfast
The event takes place on Wednesday 29th November at 10.45am in the Carrickdale Hotel. Booking essential.
UN Special Rapporteur Paul Hunt will respond to presentations on health issues from local communities and link them to the work he is doing setting indicators that define responsibilities of governments in fulfilling their human rights obligations. He will discuss how communities can effectively participate in decision making by using these tools to set standards and shape service provision. The seminar will also provide the opportunity for information and ideas from local work to feed into this developing international debate.
