Workbased Pre-Reg Nursing Places Available

8 May 2008

The Dept of Health has commissioned 18 mental health nursing places from the Open University, 15 mental health places from University of Ulster and 15 adult nursing places from Queens University. Recruitment for mental health places will take place over the coming months with a view to start in October. Queens adult places commence in February 2009 and are likely to be advertised around September.

This course is targeted at activists currently representing members on Fitness to Practice cases and those who wish to develop skills in this area of representation. It will focus on the NMC Codes but will be relevant to general fitness to practice cases.

Single Assessment Process Workshop - 13th May

This is a half day workshop targeted from social workers and the nursing team who work with older people. It will focus on the concept of person-centred care and the impact of the Single Assessment Process as an assessment tool.

This is a half day workshop which will look at case studies where care of young people has gone wrong and explore some possible ways forward, focusing on the use of power and authority, and on staff safety.
